Have you ever wanted to take a trip to another country or city and find you have a plethora of reasons why it hasn’t happened yet? Sounding something like “I can’t take off of work”, “It’s so expensive”, or “I don’t have the time” and my favorite from the but and excuse factory “Well I plan to make plans”. Yes my friends I have been there too, lucky for you I have the key! Be honest with yourself, do you really want to make this adventure happen? If yes than do it.
Ever wonder why there is never enough time in the day but if something urgent comes you somehow find a way to get it done in the nick of time. Reality is there is enough hours in the day and we have to use them wisely toward our goals. Ever heard the saying hours turn into days, days to months, months to years and so on? Well it is completely and utterly true. Rome wasn’t built in a day, the good news is the small steps taken every day can move you closer and closer to your goal.
Instead of talking about this trip that you have been craving, turn your plan into action today! Literally, grab a pen and paper right now I will wait… Great let’s get started!
- Do your research- Find the cost for travel and accommodation for your trip. Look at where you want to go, what you want to do. Shoulder seasons are the best for pricing and usually cities are not crowded with tourists.
- Start saving – Give yourself at least 6-8 months to plan (that time will literally fly by) and save. Take a little out of each pay and put towards your goal.
- Buy those tickets baby- After a couple months of saving use sites like tripmasters.com where you’re able to customize your trip, pay a portion up front and make payments before your departure! Want to live like a local? Try www.Airbnb.com for accommodations!
- High-Five my friend, you have taken your first steps to your dream vacation!
Yes, it has been that simple all along! For so long I thought you had to be a certain type of person to take a travel, someone that lives leisurely, unattached and has a bottomless bank account. I have learned that I was the only thing holding myself back from exploring the world, I am capable of so many I’m-possible things and so are you!! At the end of the day if you want something, make it happen.
